I haven't been blogging because I've been too busy celebrating! New Year's Eve was good fun...
We got dressed up....

Please note Mallory's edgy touches to what could have been a dull ensemble. She really rocks the boots, doesn't she?

We went to a party....

And had a good time with our friends.
There was food involved....

Here's Severin as he gets ready to attack the buffet...in an apparently litteral sense of the term.

Along with the food came drinks....though some didn't even need alcohol to get them wound up for a night of crazy dancing:

We stayed out until 4am and then made our way home, well satisfied that we'd properly rang out 2010, may it rest in peace.

Sunday, Mallory and I made our King's Cake for the Epiphany. I inscribed it with a pentagram on the top crust, to make it Wiccan-friendly. Tya appreciated the extra touch...

For those of you who don't know this tradition...the "Galette des Rois" is a post-Xmas cake that is baked with a small ceramic figurine inside it. The person who gets it in her/his piece gets to wear the gold paper crown and be the monarch of the day.
Good fun...and a very tasty cake. We like the kind filled with frangipane, though many other kinds exist...

Yum, Galette des Rois! I should track down a recipe for it for next year - the frangipane-filled ones are the ONLY way to go.
