Friday afternoon, we celebrated JP's 60th birthday with several firemen and a few gendarmes....
Very festive, as you can see...
It turns out that when you set the woods behind your house on fire, the fire department and cops show up.
JP knows that now.
Just to be clear, he didn't start a forest fire on purpose, he was just trying to burn off some dry grass.
Which, it turns out, is illegal and dangerous.
Live and learn, as they say...

After the excitement died down, I took the twins and one of their little friends on a road trip to Lyon to see:
which was SO completely amazing and fun and cool!!
We had great seats and the girls loved the show- especially Alexa.

At the end, we went down in front of the stage to dance and sing along with the encore.
We finally got home at about 2am.
Good times!!

Another weird parallel, my sister! When we lived on a farm in the remote regions of Western NY, a neighbor of ours set fire to HIS brush (legal out there, but what isn't?) and lost control. I came home from the grocery, up the long winding drive, to park behind the house and discover the backyard on fire! We didn't have 911 back then, so I called the farm across the street, where I knew a volunteer fireman lived, and he alerted the troops. 50 men showed up in pickup trucks, and they flooded into my barn and came out with all the rakes, shovels and brooms that had collected there for 150 years. After beating out the fire (with great joy), they threw all OUR brooms, rakes and shovels into the backs of the pickups and took off. Such is life. Of course, we didn't have a birthday to commemorate -- otherwise I would still be hearing the "so many candles" jokes. Kudos to you for steering away from that.

Even more parallel than you know, girlfriend!- In fact, I had just been to the grocery store when drove up my driveway to be greeted by the sight of the back half of our property on fire.
The minute I leave the house, the man starts to play with matches. Worse than a kid.

Well, that sounds like a little bit too much fun all around, though the concert looked like it was just enough. Glad it went well! And that the house didn't burn down.

The 'too many candles' joke has been obliquely told, so there's that. ;)

I am pleased your house is intact, and glad the concert was fun.

Yep- no candle jokes here! For once I can claim that I took the high road.

Impressive activities going on at your house on all counts! Glad that all is well and that you all made it to the rock opera!
